Global Immersion has been contracted by INTECH Science Centre to design and develop what is set to become the largest digital dome facility in the UK.

 

The dome will consist of a perforated aluminium screen, positioned on a 10-degree tilt. Global’s Fidelity Bright system will incorporate six DLP™ projectors - providing stunning contrast, vivid color and a razor sharp viewer experience. Within the system, Media Server and Media Director will provide a powerful performance, high resolution show creation and playback facility, and will allow a diverse range of content to be quickly and easily brought onto the dome. The UniView™ interactive software visualization platform and real-time starfield database will enable science and astronomy material to be shown at its best.

 

The solution will also incorporate optical blending and distortion correction technologies, along with leading-edge theater control software. Upon completion, the new facility will also be used as the UK base to showcase Global Immersion’s fulldome technology capability.
